The sales volume of the complete area amounts to approx. 130000 million DM per annum, half of which is obtained by the systems-producing companies. Beyond the quantitative meaning of the branch, it is also one of the most important partners for social and political demands of energy-savings and environmental protection. The companies united in the BHKS have had from the beginning a substantial share in the development of building service technology. They initiated at the beginning of this century the important step from custom-manufacturing to the widespread use of radiator-, climate and sanitary technology.
