The economic importance of the HVAC industry:

The building sector is an important part of the national economy in all industrially oriented countries. The building service engineering industry plays the roll of a dynamic partner whose share in the complete building industry continuously increases.
From 1978 to 1996 the number of the employees remained constant in the building-services sector but the wage costs have approximately doubled. In the same time period the sales have increased permanently so that the sales volume has tripled.
The systems-installing companies of the building-services sector with their 476500 employees obtained in 1995 a total turnover of 68000 million DM. At a net product share of 50 %, about 1 % of the complete gross domestic production is therefore produced by the medium-sized companies of the biulding-service sector.
The companies organized in the regional-chapters of the BHKS who have more than 20 employees account for approx. 40 % of the total turnover in this sector. The share of these businesses in the sales volume in the all-German heating-systems construction is approx. 45 %, in the area climate/ventilation approx. 90 % and in the area sanitary technology approx. 25 %.
